Roper St. Francis is the Lowcountry’s only not-for-profit healthcare system, and we are the leading provider of adult healthcare in the region. We care for the community in our three flagship hospitals – Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in West Ashley, Roper Hospital downtown and Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital in East Cooper – as well as in more than 125 additional facilities in seven counties.
Company History
Roper St. Francis was founded by The
Medical Society of South Carolina, The Sisters of
Bon Secours as the successors to the Sisters of
Charity of Our Lady of Mercy and the Carolinas
Healthcare System. We have served the people of
the Carolinas and more specifically those in
Charleston and the Lowcountry for more than 200
years.
