ABOUT US

Valerie Kane
Valerie Kane, RN, founded Kane Educational Seminars to help nurses reenter the nursing field and get back to work. Her extensive nursing background spans 40 years of practice. She is a former college nursing instructor, and a provider of continuing educational programs for her nurses since the early 1980's. Her experience includes hospital nursing, nursing homes, home care, clinical office settings and expert testimony in the nursing field. She taught clinical nursing skills at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

In 1981 she became the Director of Nursing for a home care agency in Orlando, FL and remained in that position for nearly 25 years. During that time, she became familiar with the severe nursing shortage in Florida and resolved to do something about it. She wrote the curriculum for the first RN/LPN Refresher class in the late 1980’s which created an unexpected benefit. “Many of my students became my best nurses in the field,” states Valerie. She would utilize her new graduates for private duty shifts, home health visits, Hospice, and for staff relief in select long term care facilities.
