Description
Provide comprehensive, family-centered care to patients from infancy through young adulthood. Conduct physical exams, diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests. Promote wellness through preventative care, health education, and management of chronic conditions.
Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnose and manage acute illnesses (e.g., infections) and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, ADHD).
Treatment Planning: Prescribe medications, order lab tests, and interpret results to develop comprehensive care plans.
Education & Counseling: Educate parents and caregivers on nutrition, injury prevention, and child development.
Collaboration: Work with pediatricians and specialists to coordinate care.
Requirements
Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification.
Certification: Certification as a Primary Care (CPNP-PC) or Acute Care (CPNP-AC) Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Experience: Previous experience as a pediatric nurse is preferred but not required.
Licensed in Louisiana
